Hey Navily! So glad to be here! My name is Andrea, I am 27 years old (28 very soon), I took a degree in economics and I\u2019m living two lives: one in winter in Turin, northern Italy, and one in summer on my boat around the Mediterranean Sea.<\/p>\n\n\n

How did you fall in love with Sailing?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I joined the world of sailing before I was born, thanks to the passion of my parents who took me on board of Diomedea (their first sailing boat) as I was still in my mother\u2019s belly.  From that moment I spent every summer sailing and inevitably I fell in love with this way of discovering the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you name a few places that you have explored? Any favorite?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve sailed in Italy (Liguria, Sicilia, Sardinia, Puglia, Venetian Lagoon and the Gulf of Trieste), in Croatia, in Greece as well as in France. My favorite place is Croatia: hundreds of Islands, blue transparent sea, villages full of history and secret treasures…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have been collaborating with us for a few weeks now. What are you able to achieve thanks to the Navily app?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was already using the application before we started working together.  I find it essential to have information regarding places to moor or anchor. Navily has both technical information as well as tourist information and that makes it very useful. I also use Navily to book berth in marinas. That allows me to secure a mooring and enjoy my time at the anchor without having to worry about where I’ll spend the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Navily we are fan of your Instagram feed! What device and software do you use to capture these moments of exploration?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m glad you like it! I use a Sony alpha 6300, a DJI osmo pocket, a Xiaomi Mi Drone 4K, a GoPro, a Nikon d3400 and an iPhone X. To edit my videos and pics I always use Final Cut Pro (i\u2019m a Mac user) and Adobe Lightroom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tell us something about yourself that people might be surprised by… ?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mmm.. I don\u2019t know. You might find it surprising that I am also an airplane pilot (small aircrafts) and that I have a flight license. Oh! I’ve also been playing piano and singing since I was a child. That makes my nights at sea, singing under the stars, even more magical.<\/p>\n\n\n

It’s time to say goodbye, Andrea ! Any last tip to share with our community of explorers?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A piece of advice I give to all sailors, from the bottom of my heart, is to never underestimate the safety at sea. It is often put aside in favor of fun these days but you should always put safety first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, I would like to bring all readers on a theme that particularly touches me : rediscovering what it is to be human. Enjoying a vacation on a boat allows you to restore an authentic contact with nature, far from our bad habits, closer to our biological rhythms. In an era ruled by technology and robotics, it is necessary to remind ourselves how to live like humans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
