Last year, thanks to our photo contest in partnership with Dream Yacht Charter<\/a>, Cl\u00e9ment won a week of cruising in Corsica with 6 of his friends! Cl\u00e9ment loves travelling and he is a great drone pilot, so he shared with us his logbook and a few drone shots taken along the way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 1: Arrival in Corsica<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

How nice it is to arrive in\nAjaccio under a splendid sun! It\u2019s Friday night, everyone is settling in their\ncabin and getting to know the boat. We\u2019ll be spending a week here cruising\naround Corsica thanks to Navily, what else could we ask for?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a night at the marina, we set sail the next morning towards the airport to grab two more friends, Gabriel and Louise who will join us on this vacation. Our first stop takes us to the little cove of Cacalu<\/a>, right under the Genoese tower. First bath of the week for the crew in what felt like a giant aquarium. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After a good lunch and a well-deserved nap, we lift the anchor and head towards Propriano. On the way, we decide to stop at the bay of Agliu<\/a>, by the beach and the tower of Calanca. A nice climb to the tower rewards us with a stunning sunset. First night at the anchor for some of the crew, nicely tucked in their beds with the gentle roll of the boat\u2026 see you tomorrow!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 2: Heading to Bonifacio<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Feeling refreshed after a good night of sleep, we lift the anchor at 10am under the rain, heading towards the south. We sail by the small island of Eccica, and then the beautiful Lion of Roccapina<\/a> and finally stop for lunch in the bay or Arbitru<\/a>. The weather is being capricious, so we decide to cut the lunch short and head faster towards Bonifacio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On our way, we make a quick stop to visit the \u201cDragon cave\u201d (Sdragonatu in local dialect) and then resume our sailing. Our arrival at Bonifacio a little before nightfall happens in less-than-ideal conditions, with heavy winds and choppy waters. The visit of the town and its beautiful cliffs will have to wait until tomorrow. We\u2019re too tired for all those stairs\u2026 PS: Happy Mother\u2019s Day! \u2764\ufe0f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 3: Lavezzi islands<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This morning, we\u2019re staying on\nsolid ground. We split the crew in two teams. The first group heads towards the\nlighthouse of Pertusano, to the southernmost part of Corsica. A beautiful walk\nalong the cliffs, turquoise waters, massive rocks\u2026 truly an amazing scenery.\nThe second group decides to visit the old town of Bonifacio for a little\nshopping and some mandatory sightseeing. Their favorite part? The 187 steps of\nthe King Aragon staircase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the morning ends, the crew reunites on the boat and sets sail towards the Lavezzi islands while having lunch in choppy seas (not the most comfortable lunch of the trip). Once there, we moor on a buoy in a small bay<\/a>. This area offers a lot of things to do: Snorkeling (one person even saw a barracuda), hiking, stand-up paddle around the island\u2026 The weather is very beautiful today and water is almost transparent! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The afternoon is coming to an end, so we decide to head north towards the island of Cavallo<\/a>. The scenery is completely different but just as stunning: beautiful villas, private sand beaches\u2026 Tonight we\u2019re having our first dinner under a sky full of stars. What a paradise!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We head back to Bonifacio<\/a> to spend the night sheltered from the heavy swell forecasted. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 4: When the sea decides for you<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This morning, the weather is\nclearly the worst it\u2019s been since the beginning of our trip\u2026 30 knots of wind\nand the sea does not seem welcoming. But our crew loves adventure, so we decide\nto head out anyway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We all put on our gear, untie\nthe boat, leave the dock and hoist the main sail\u2026 The 3-meter waves right\noutside of the marina quickly make it obvious that we are not that adventurous.\nSo, we turn around and go back to our cozy spot on the town quay. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead of a day at sea, we\nspend the afternoon on solid ground, hiking in and around Bonifacio and\nenjoying the scenery of the heavy waves on the cliffs. The light is stunning\nbut the wind a little too strong to fly the drone. After a nice dinner, everyone\ngoes to bed, hoping for better weather tomorrow for our trip towards Propriano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 5 & 6: See you soon Corsica<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

This morning the weather is much nicer but the sea is still pretty choppy. We head out of Bonifacio surfing on the swell heading towards Tizzano<\/a> for lunch. There we hop in our dinghy to go to a restaurant called Chez Antoine, a little slice of paradise with an amazing view on the bay. We spend the afternoon there, half on the beach, half in the water and enjoy these last hours of sun and holidays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next day we head back to Portigliolo<\/a>. Once there, some of the crew decides to jump headfirst in the water while others prefer simply laying in the sun, relaxing and taking the natural beauty of the spot. We spend the night on the boat with a nice dinner, trying to hold on to these last moments of calm before the end of the vacation. It\u2019s hard to go to bed when it\u2019s last night\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
