A few days ago, we released a new version of the Navily app on\u00a0iOS<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Android<\/a>. The main improvement consists in a complete overhaul of our offline functionality!<\/p>

This new offline mode now allows you to download entire areas. Once downloaded, you now have offline access to maps of the area as well as the information, comments and photos on each marina and anchorage.<\/p>

The Offline mode is a functionality available with Navily Premium which also includes 72h weather forecasts, itineraries and distance calculations, filters on the map and an ad-free experience. 1 - Choosing an area<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Move the map to the area you wish to download. With 2 fingers you can zoom in or out to select the correct area you want to download. Areas have a max-size limit which is around the size of Corsica. Big areas can take a while to download and might take a lot of space on your device. So we recommend you to limit the size of your areas to what best suits your needs and available space. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

After choosing your area, you\u2019ll have the possibility to give it a name and choose the amount of photos you want for each spot. Keep in mind that the amount of photos is correlated to the size of the area and will have an impact on your download time as well. Once the area is created, it is not automatically downloaded. You can therefore create multiple areas and only download them once you need them. Once an area is created, click on the \u201cdownload\u201d button and the area will start downloading. To give a frame of reference, an area the size of Menorca with 1 photo per spot can take between 2 and 5 minutes depending on the quality of your connection.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Activate offline mode<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Navily app will automatically activate offline mode. If you lose signal or turn on airplane mode, the app will automatically open the last area you\u2019re downloaded.<\/p>

Once offline, you have access to the map of area as well as all the spots referenced on Navily in the area. You can therefore zoom in and out and move the map around to find the spot you\u2019re searching for. If the app has access to your GPS position, then it will automatically show on the map as GPS does not use the cell phone data. Finally you can click on anchorages and marinas and consult their full profile including contact details, comments, photos, types of seabeds\u2026 <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
