Rubicon & Playa del Pozo

Navily rating :  ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wind protection : NW to SW by N bottom : Sand

Our next stopover, Rubicon, is located in the south of the island. At the anchorage, the seabed features a mix of sandbanks and rocks, 6 meters deep. There, you will enjoy a fair protection from winds blowing from the north-west to east by the north. Near Rubicon, you will find a second anchorage : Playa del Pozo. The seabed remains the same as the one in Rubicon, however the anchorage is a little more exposed to the wind. Both of the anchorages will allow you to enjoy a very special and typical landscape. In Playa del Pozo, the setting is simply breathtaking! Roaring waves against the cliffs, mountains that slope down to the sea and steep dark rocks surrounded by blue waters make a remarkable setting. The Rubicon anchorage is located next to the marina, which means that the setting is not the most spectacular. However, the location offers good accessibility to many amenities (restaurants, shops, playground for children …) for a pleasant and strategic stopover. Finally, near the anchorages you will find Playa Papagayo. An ideal beach for sunbathing, swimming, hiking or simply stopping by to enjoy the view.
