Gaia

23 November 2018

Gaia, where do you come from?

I come from a small town in the Ombrie region, located in the middle of Italy. It’s the only region in the middle of Italy which is not surrounded by the sea. That is why I have always loved to live in a city like Nice.

I came to France in February 2018, for an internship with Navily. I’ve really loved this country as it resembles the Italian way of life for me. In some ways, I feel “at home” but really, I am discovering a new country with its own culture.

An anecdote about you relating to the sea of boat?

Yes, I am a good one and a bad one.. For the bad, I was with my group of friends in a dingy near Port Santo Stefano. All was going well until the dingy stopped in the middle of the sea… I was really scared and at that moment, I really understood that before going on a boat trip, you must be prepared for the different problems you may encounter. On the contrary, the more positive anecdote was when I went to Hawaii to see the waves in a catamaran, it was magnificent !

How does it feel to be part of Navily ?

I really feel like I belong here ! The Navily team is young and dynamic which allows me to feel good. In addition, the fact that our team is international helps me a lot to open myself up to different cultures and speak different languages every day. My team has talent, they are ambitious and dedicated to ensuring that all things Navily run smoothly; that’s really why I love my job and why I’m involved in such an innovative company !

What is your role at Navily ?

I work in the sales department as Country Manager of the Italian market. My main goal is to maintain and strengthen the relationship with our Italian partner ports and develop new ones while also ensuring that everything runs smoothly with bookings in Italy, since I am in direct contact with the boaters and harbour masters. I am also in charge of several projects with our marketing manager to promote Navily in a positive way in Italy.
