New chat feature with other Navily boaters

28 April 2020
Navily new chat feature and geolocation

Since the beginning, Navily has allowed you to share your experience with the community. This month, we released a new feature that will further ease sharing and help in the community : the chat between Navily members.

After successfully integrating automatic routing last month, the new update released last weekend now allows you to chat with other users. Combined with geolocation, this new feature will let you easily chat with boaters near you or geographically locate users who could bring insightful tips for your next boat trip!

Update the app to discover the chat feature and check our a few examples below of how this can help you enhance your boating experience.

Jellyfish, crowded anchorage or bad weather? Ask the boaters on site!

It’s going to be a lovely weekend so you decide to take the boat out. In the morning, you want to know in advance if your favourite anchorage is already crowded. It’s easy with Navily : check the map for a user on site and ask him/her for information using the chat feature in the app. The path looks clear with just a few boats anchored there… let’s go for a fun Saturday of boating and sunbathing!

Prepare your next boat trip by asking questions to those who have visited the area before.

Summer is fast approaching and your heart has fallen for the Balearic Islands! The area is a gem of a destination for boaters and consequently, crowded in high season. How can you find the best anchorages of the Island, known only by the most experienced boaters in the region? With Navily, you can browse the anchorage’s comment section on the app to find the most active boaters in the area. Mike seems to have lots of experience in the Balearic Islands? Shoot him a message on Navily to seek his advice for the best places to anchor in Minorca. By the way we just wrote an article about that.

The bottle opener broke… No worries, Navily is here for you.

It’s sundown in a beautiful anchorage, you’re getting ready for  well deserved drinks after a day of sunbathing. Everything would be perfect but you just broke the bottle opener! No panic, with Navily you can contact other boaters in the bay to borrow one and save the evening! Helping each other, being united and making new friends for the next cocktail party… Who knows!

Update the app to start using the new features on Navily and bring your boating experience to the next level!
